Most people take a car like this to a racetrack. I took it to an orchard.

It was the last hour of daylight, when the sun gets low enough to slip between the trees and light up the apples one by one. The rows ran straight ahead, the grass had just been mown, and the R8 fit down the lane with barely a hand’s width to spare on either side.

This shot shouldn’t really work. A sharp, low supercar sitting in the middle of something so ordinary and alive. But the headlights caught the same amber as the leaves, the apples echoed the red, and the car looked like it belonged there.

If you shoot cars, take this as a nudge. The best location is rarely the obvious one. Look at the roads you drive past every day, wait for the light, and park where nobody else thought to.
